I don't have cable, I stream everything I watch online. The episodes are on ABC.com but they have commercials. I usually watch them on Hulu without the commercials. Does anyone else do this? Or are some people still watching the show live each day on ABC TV?
Curious to know what sort of viewing practices people might have...

I'm usually at work when the show airs so I watch it on ABC.com when I get home. Adblock Plus must get rid of the commercials because there are none when I watch it on my computer. I can't watch on Hulu since you have to pay to watch anything there now.

I cut cable and have been watching GH on Hulu for about 8 months now. I love the "no commercials" aspect. The $12 a month for Hulu is worth it. Especially since I was previously paying $110 a month to Time Warner for cable. Now that's a rip-off. Another plus is Hulu airs GH in its entirety even when ABC interrupts it for some stupid "breaking news."

My DVR is set to record it everyday LIVE on TV. If it doesn't catch it for some reason, I watch it on ABC. com which I did about a month ago when we had that interruption for half the show. I didn't get any commercials on the website from it but that could have been a rare thing though. As someone mentioned above, I have Adblock Plus as well, but not sure if that works for commercials on LIVE stream videos or does it?
Very soon (when Chandler Massey returns) I will be watching DAYS daily which airs at the same time as GH here so one of them will have to be caught online.

Hey Soap Watch - can your DVR record both GH and DAYS at the same time? When I had a DVR box, it could record up to 4 shows at the same time.

Interesting comments. Thanks everyone. Can you rewind on ABC.com? On Hulu I can rewind and rewatch a scene quite easily.

Yes, there's a 10 second rewind button when I watch on my Amazon Fire tablet but I can't skip the commercials on there after the latest update to the site. I don't believe there is any rewind button on the ABC site when I'm on my computer but there are also no commercial breaks.

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I think Hulu's features are a bit nicer (and easier) to use.
Here's what I watch--
On Hulu: General Hospital, plus the British soaps Coronation Street and Hollyoaks (Hulu has the most recent episodes all the way back to January 1, 2016). Also on Hulu there are seven seasons of the original Dark Shadows I look at sometimes for fun.
On DailyMotion: I watch the British soap Emmerdale which is really the most daring of all the soaps (not long ago they had one of the actresses take her blouse off on camera to show the audience her real-life double mastectomy, and one of the farming families has been growing marijuana). Also on DailyMotion I watch the Australian soap Neighbours which has a very sexy cast, and they're not all in their 20s so it's kind of interesting to see sexy older characters for a change. Sometimes I watch the working class soap EastEnders on DailyMotion; it's a British one filmed in London but they're changing producers and the show is going through a bit of transition right now.
On YouTube, I am hooked on episodes of the old NBC soap The Doctors. It's airing on the Retro channel and someone has uploaded the episodes from 1968 to 1974, but they are under a different name so they are hard to find but it means they won't be taken down so easily. The Doctors and General Hospital were very similar in terms of subject matter in the 70s, so it's kind of interesting to see how soapy medical dramas were written and played during that era.
On NBC.com I sample about one episode per week of Days of Our Lives (with commercials unfortunately). I don't think it's really improved. Ron is repeating a lot of his old OLTL and GH tricks.
My favourite soap though is Red Rock, an Irish soap with a lot of crime/noir elements. It's filmed in the Scandi-noir style. The acting is superb and the storylines are phenomenal, not cliched, really edgy with lots of twists and turns. There are over 100 episodes on Amazon Prime. It's on hiatus right now, because Irish soaps air from January to June, then rerun the second half of the year. I can't wait until the next season in January 2018. I highly recommend Red Rock. It's everything a soap should be.

No, my DVR is like 15 years old. I know the newer ones can because my cousins do all the time.
I really wanted to watch The Doctors but we don't get the Retro Channel here. :/
Oh I loved Hollyoaks back when Brendan and Ste were a couple. I caught all them online as well but haven't watched it since all that ended.
How about Eastenders? I seen a few of them back when Bobby Beale was on trial. He's supposed to be returning soon so I'll be watching that just to continue what I saw before.

I cut cable for about two years and watched it Hulu before the option of no commercials. It was OK. Then I moved and cable was bundled with the rent so I DVR'd it, oddly not as user-friendly as Hulu although I could skip commercials. Then when Hulu offered commercial-free I jumped at that even tho I still had cable and watched it there. I thought the sound and video were somehow better than cable/DVR. I moved again and opted not to get cable (yay) so I watch everything now Hulu (which I love), Amazon (rarely), Netflix, and Youtube (I lose hours on this -- it's like streaming-of-consciousness 😉 ). Hulu also offers a nice selection of classic and newer movies, original programming, and documentaries. It is an amazing deal at $12/mo and I enjoy it now because I suspect it won't last...
BTW, speaking of cable... Spectrum (nee Bright House) must've realized they lost the war and started offering limited cable (just top tier channels) for $20 a month streaming; no box. I called them up ready to order so I wouldn't miss first-run Walking Dead and Archer. Of course, being cable, they suck. Sure, it's $20. "Did we mention there's a fee for connectivity? Or the reception fee? Or the screw-the-customer-over fee? You're monthly bill will be $70 and that doesn't include taxes or internet." Jerks, I hope all the cable companies crash and burn. Few industries deserve it more.

I am not sure if Bobby Beale's return has been confirmed yet by the BBC...so for now, it's speculation/rumor. EastEnders is not having a good year. They did a weird drowning death with two sisters in January that alienated fans, and some of the actors refused to do the new storylines that were created for them. So from January to May fans and cast were calling for the firing of the executive producer. He finally was let go in mid-June, but the new producer's stuff won't start until September or October. It is not very watchable right now, you can tell the actors are mad at the junk they're being handed to play. I've never seen a soap with such low morale on screen and off screen. Hopefully by the end of the year EE will be back on track.
On Hollyoaks, Ste is still frontburner, but he's gone through a few relationships since Brendan.

Just Google the date on Dailymotion. They are a French co and don't give a rat's ass about ABC- dozens of Dailymotion channels have GH.

That's where I usually watch. I try youtube first, but the posters there screw around with it so much to avoid suspension that it's sometimes unwatchable.

I've never used Dailymotion. How does it work? I mean, I've used other Euro sites where it was direct streaming but when I went just now to go check it out every show told me to go click on a link to go somewhere off-site. Uh, no. Watching "Archer" first run is not worth a new laptop.

I've only used dailymotion for GH, so I can't speak to anything else. I just search for general hospital by date.
Here's Archer season 1 epi 1. Is this what you mean? (It's a link to the dailymotion stream, not offsite. Safety first!)

Thanks Amy's Pen. I was actually looking for season 3 of Fear the Walking Dead (which is silly since I think it's utter crap). And I keep getting warnings that the video isn't allowed.
Here's an example: Fear the Walking Dead. Maybe it's just a matter of keep on trying. Fortunately many of the shows I like are far easier to track down without cable.
