Discuss General Hospital

They are more obsessed with each other than either of them are/were with their spouses. Carly refers to him as her best friend - - not Sonny, who is her husband. Jason is the only one who doesn't think Carly is crazy. Really, they are a match made in heaven (or hell if you prefer).

I don't know if it's just me, but I'm finding Jason much more irritating now since his last return than in the past. I don't know if it's the writing or the actor, but I really can't stand him.

SB & SB had chemistry together.

Okay, Steve Burton & Sarah Brown ... but I don't find any romantic chemistry between him and Laura Wright.

Have they ever explored that onscreen?

I'm not talking about sexual chemistry between them, though for the record, I don't think Carly has any sexual chemistry with Sonny, either. They send out more of a sibling vibe. I'm talking about the reasons I already mentioned. Right now Jason is going against Carly's husband with the advice he's giving her, which is crossing a boundary. Also, if you're going to constantly call a guy your best friend, then that's the guy you should have married.

Jason and Carly, not surprisingly, have an extraordinarily dysfunctional relationship: Former casual lovers turned nearly siblings. They're better friends with each other than with any of their various spouses, past and present. They're actually toxic to each other which is why I keep hoping for a murder-suicide culmination to their pairing.

Yeah but we don't have that same "needy" dysfunctional vibe with Laura Wright in the role as with Sarah Brown. LW version comes off as someone with at least a little intellect who can take care of herself to where Sarah Brown's version didn't.

SB version acted upon impulse where Jason was needed to come along and undo the damage. Her version of the character was always telling him things like, "I did this now fix it, Jason." We don't see any of those stupid impulse moments we did with SB any more.

The Nelle incident wouldn't qualify because that was Nelle's doings, not Carly's. It's more damsel in distress than dysfunctional.

LW's Carly has intellect? The problem w the character is her arrested emotional development. She's the teenager and Joss is the adult! And Wright simply is not good enough as an actress to make anyone care for her character.
