Tyler Christopher (ex Nicholas Cassadine) is being temporarily replaced by Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara) on Days due to Tyler having to be carried out of the studio stoned cold drunk and will be checking into rehab.
Days tapes 5-6 months ahead of airing so BB won't air until some time in 2019.
With all that said, I look for Nicholas to stay dead.

Nikolas can't 'stay dead' because he has never been dead, to begin with. Repeat after me: if there is no body, and there are frequent hints that the character is still alive, (which there have been) then he isn't dead. They didn't have Valentin repeatedly tell Spencer and Laura that Nikolas faked his death, for no reason. If you don't SEE a character die onscreen, and the death is merely PRESUMED without being proven, the character ain't dead. Nikolas isn't dead until you see his body lying in a coffin at his funeral. All they have to do is recast, and when they do recast, it will no doubt be revealed that Nikolas and Valentin were working together the entire time and that Valentin 'shot' Nikolas as part of a plot they both concocted to fake Nikolas' death.

Yet you say the opposite about Morgan even when there is no body inside his grave ... and what have been these frequent hints that Nicholas is alive?

Incorrect, I have never said that Morgan is definitely dead, I have only said, correctly if you check the evidence, that Maurice Benard and Laura Wright have both said that they are against bringing Morgan back and that despite the rumors there is no evidence that there are any plans to bring Morgan back, or that bringing Morgan back has ever even been seriously contemplated by TPTB.
I already explained that in my post, when Laura and Spencer filed a 'wrongful death' suit against him, Valentin repeatedly said that his defense would be to present evidence that Nikolas wasn't dead and that he probably faked his death. They wouldn't have had Valentin repeatedly say this over and over again unless it was a hint, especially since Valentin is no moron and he wouldn't commit himself to a legal defense strategy that was impossible to support with evidence. If Valentin said that he had evidence that Nikolas never died then he no doubt meant exactly what he said.

This thread made me check on what Nik's temp portrayer Coltin Scott (now going by his birth name of Stephen Martines) is up to. Long story short...running cons in St. Louis. Yikes.
In any case, if Nik comes back, I doubt he'll be played by either of these two. I guess they just need to find a 40 something year old actor who kinda sorta resembles Robert Kelker-Kelly.

How about the actor who took Tyler Christopher's place ... though I really think James Patrick Stuart is the true replacement as Valentin Cassadine.
I think temp Nik was hired to finish the role out to pave the way for JPS to take the reins as the remaining head Cassadine.

That's really awful about Tyler Christopher.
I don't watch Days, but is BB a good fit for the character? I really liked him as Johnny, mostly bc he gave Sonny trouble
Wow, they really tape Days that far ahead?!

if you don't watch Days, why would you question if BB is a good fit?
I've been waiting and waiting for BB to return to GH. I guess i'll keep waiting.
6 months is crazy. Why doesn't GH do that? So weird.

When they went through Bell Black re-casts after Storms left one of them was so awful the fans got her canned after 2 episodes. She lasted only a week.

It's hard to believe Nikolas would allow Spencer and Laura to believe he is dead. And if they're in on it, then I can't imagine Laura not telling Lulu. And once Lulu knows...

Would Edward fake his death without telling Lila? Keep in mind that Nikolas faked his death before, and the reason it failed, is because he let Spencer in on it. I think Nikolas would learn from experience and realize that he can't fake his death effectively if there is ANYONE who knows about it.

But why fake his death at all? To get away from Hayden? He could have just pushed her 80 lb body off a parapet.

Didn't Spencer have visits and phonecalls with his father but everyone thought he was imagining them all because he was taking his father's death hard?
Or did it turn out to be just that ... I can't recall.

Yes, Spencer had a “burner phone” just for Nick’s calls. Kevin and Laura discovered it during a counseling session.

True, but that would be messed up letting his son go all this time thinking his dad for dead for real this time. Sound logic just cruel and could land Spencer in therapy for years. Or, create a nice healthy hatred in him like a true Cassadine.

Spencer's mysterious burner phone ... another plot dropped never touched on again. :/
