Discuss General Hospital

About a week or so ago, Dedoc posted an amusing comment about Carly's 1970s-like, floor-length monstrosity. I'm pretty sure my mom had one (minus the plunging neckline, of course). The same day I came across this website featuring the same outfit and other outfits worn by GH cast. Just click on the photo of any character to the left. It's pretty interesting (or so I thought).

Thanks for sharing Cluny, back in the 70’s, my Aunts would come over during the day in similar Caftans, sit around the kitchen table, smoke cigarettes, drink coffee, talk about their “Stories” they watched, and eat Ritz crackers with butter. It was quite the scene.

If I recall correctly, wigs were quite the thing too. My mom, even though she had beautiful hair, had a couple of wigs (not sure if she even ever wore them), but they used to creep me out, sitting there on their little styrofoam heads.

I'm giving Carly a bit of leeway here because she's wearing maternity clothes, which are usually not fashionable...

This may be the best post you've ever made here, wise. lol I know those women, too.

I thought Sam's page would be all black tank tops and hooker boots. I didn't realize she wore actual shirts now.

That's a cool website.

I'm confused. Are people supposed to actually order those clothes to wear themselves? It's hard to imagine the average woman can fill out a dress like Lisa Boom-Boom LoCicero: https://wornontv.net/138686/

The site links you to a site to buy the clothes in whatever size they have available. They aren't buying what the actors wore. That dress is not for the average woman, no. Pictures of other women in the same dress show a much different look than the way Lisa looks in it, though.

Would an average woman be able to wear this? https://wornontv.net/137251/

Thank you Amy! I figured at least a few folks on here had these women in their lives!

My Aunt Theresa, who lived next door had a few wigs and “falls” on those creepy heads. My cousin Richie would always get in trouble for drawing faces on the styrofoam to scare me even more!

Oh my Gawd, "falls." I had a long blonde one. What the hell was I thinking?? Don't forget the fake lashes. At least those looked somewhat normal, not like the ones today that look like they're on steroids.

I can see you and Richie being great friends. He is also in charge of our Family Halloween Celebrations (last year it was in Salem, near my Brother’s home)

Always includes “Carnival Of Souls”, “Last House on the Left”, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and whatever obscure films he feels like throwing into the mix.

It’s always a fun time, and his impression of “Barlow” from Salem’s Lot will scare the BeJesus out of me then, now, forever.

I Love Love Love you Cluny, more today than yesterday! You made my day with your response. I recently purchased “magnetic “ False Lashes to wear to a Black Tie event, I looked like a kewpie (?) doll Or Betty Boop.

Needless to say, I loaded up on mascara and went my own way.

I now prefer myself unadorned.
