Diskuse o General Hospital

I don't know if i'm in the minority here but I could not stand Trina's smugness in the courtroom yesterday. I wanted to the real Esme to come out and b*tch slap her.

I agree. I much prefer good/bad Esme over whiney, holier-than-thou Trina.

I much preferred Sydney Mikayla (the one prior to this Trina), but she left to study at UCLA. I accepted the present Trina but she is getting on my last nerve. Holier than thou, indeed! Also, I don't think I can handle having to listen to her much longer talking about going to study abroad at the Sore-Bone. joy

Her voice is irritating, especially when she’s talking loudly. Maybe Trina and Spencer will fall out of a plane (like Scotty did) en route to Paris.

but unlike Scotty, they won't survive

Trina has become smug. Ye, she is acting more like a real person than a soap person, but that only shows how annoying people can be irl.

I thought that I was the only one who was annoyed by Trina the other day in her interaction with Esme. I am glad to see that I am not alone.

I do find it interesting how everyone is so damned determined to put Esme in prison when many others in Port Charles have yet to pay for even more serious crimes.

Well, naturally, I disagree. I love Taby & I love the writing for her. I was so ready for her to say the things she did to Esme. But I think what Esme did is right up there with serious crimes & misdemeanors.

The sex tape was bad enough but then the frame job was appalling.

Were any of you surprised that Ava listened to her?

Even Ava has some compassion for a mother who's child was taken away from her. So no, wasn't surprised.

Yes, that was what she said but I was still really surprised. Of course, Esme has a a lot of nerve, going to the people she is going to.

It made total sense that Esme went to Ava. She knew that out of everyone, Ava was the one person besides Spencer that Nik would seek out. Ava also knows Nik better than most and would have an idea of where he might go.

Not too long ago Nik tried to take Avery away from Ava, which resulted in Ava almost killing him. It doesn’t surprise me that she would have empathy for any woman in that situation. It’s one thing to want your enemy thrown in jail, and another to want their baby kidnapped. Ava is not a monster.

Well, you make good points. My thinking was all centered on how much Ava loves Trina & how awful what Esme did to Trina was.

Oh, and BTW, I do not actually believe that Nik would have taken Avery. I think he just said it in the heat of the moment to get Ava's goat, just to bug the **** out of her.

I really liked Sydney Mikayla. I know she left on her own and I wish her the best, but I just can't warm up to this Trina. There's something about her that gets on my nerves. A little bit of her goes a long way.

Yes, Sydney Mikayla was my favorite. She was a bit more intellectual, yet still very warm-hearted. Though I've given her a chance, I have never really liked the current actress in the role...she's playing herself, not trying to play the character as originally established. Yes, I know recasts are sometimes allowed to put their own spin on things...but it's like she never really cared about how the character was previously defined and just jumped in with her own more vibrant personality, which doesn't exactly fit this character.

The character was never intended to be so extraverted. She was meant to be a bit more moody and withdrawn, which is what made her a good fit for Spencer. Another thing that hurt the character's forward progression was when they recast the role and put Trina with the young cop, whose name I forget. That created a new dimension for Trina that went against what Sydney had already defined in the role.

I also thought there was a much better rapport between Sydney and the actress who plays Portia. The mother-daughter scenes were a lot better with them.

I remember writing this before on an older thread...I think Trina should have been written out when Sydney left the role, as sending her away to college in another state, with the door open for her to return. They could have still brought Tabyana into the family as a cousin, like the daughter of one of Portia's off-screen cousins. Tabyana would have been better served by the writers giving her a brand new character to play. She's a decent actress, but she is not my idea of how Trina should be presented.

It's so funny. Everything you say is something I could say about why I prefer Taby. The first actress was fine, nothing against her. But I think Taby is the better actress. And, I think it's Taby who has taken the couple Sprina to new heights. She is so personable & she does such lovely emoting. My favorite scenes are with Ava. I love it that pink is her superpower & Shawn keeps coming up with new & better pinks!
