The reason people don't appreciate the maturity and realism of the breakup is because TJ and Molly have been stuck on C storylines for so long we NEVER get to see them except that they are in a relationship. They are the modern Brian & Claudia- for the old timers.

TJ is the best he's been since the classic TJ of 10 years ago, and this Molly blows away the drunk driving brat.

If they actually fleshed the characters out- let TJ stew or despair over a lost patient, or have Molly navigate the quandaries and lack of ethics in law, well, then we WOULD be drawn to their relationship and its possible end.

Perfect example was the scene where Molly whips out old diaries and writes of meeting TJ. Of course, we never saw her writing these, and this is a distant callback to her writing a book a decade ago. Why not have her look over diary entries from her one nighter w Brando or other things we actually saw? Or her missing her dad, her on and off relationship w Uncle Sonny?

This soap sucks because it is NOT soapy. It is aborted SLs and psychotic and psychopathic characters.

Make Molly and TJ A characters, give them real SLs, make Curtis the top good guy. Make Brennan the Big Bad, and LET HIM flush Sonny and Jason. They blew making Lucas relevant by NOT making him Sam's accidental killer, and this results in all this tokenism.

It's a shame because new Molly is a very good actress. and the Ashfords shed be elevated to Quartermaine and Webber/Spencer level. Let us dig into their past. Maybe Curtis was once beaten by racists? Maybe Auntie actually had a real life. MaybeJordan actually gets an interesting man in her life? Maybe Portia is NOT Portia, or some other classic soap tropes. Maybe Marshall is killed by the show's next serial killer?

One can dream.

I agree with all of this. Tajh Bellow.....THE MAN!! He's been in the background for so long and just a pretty face and he finally has good material and delivering it well. And yes, kudos to NuMolly as well.

I think we got some soapy coming up with Brook Lynn and Chase. Theories are Gio is Dante and Brook Lynn's secret child. With the odd look Brook Lynn gave when Chase was excited to have kids for the first time with each other and Cody bringing up Dante and Brook Lynn's fling from summer camp...the rumors have some plausibility.

Yeah. It's just frustrating because the story and actors are doing so well and it is unappreciated because we only see repetitive glimpses of the breakup. Dam, Krissy and Alexis get more screen time than TJ!

I don’t see the Ashfords being elevated to Q status. Portia, Trina, and Marshall are unpopular in fandom. TJ is not very popular either with his perceived bullying and hotheaded temper in the dead baby SL. Your ideas are better than the writers, but I don’t see the Ashfords becoming a successful central focus.

Personally I think the writers did a disservice to the history of the show. A main family that should have been a mainstay is the Hardy's. Audrey is apparently still alive off screen but aside from that I wish there could have been main focus on Tom and Simone and Tommy Junior...and expanded that family into Q status. My other push would be for the Ward family. Justus should have never been killed off and married Dara Jensen. Keesha, Maya, and any other Ward that could have been introduced could have been worth a try. I still believe Keesha could have AJ Quartermaine's love child since she left the show right after they broke up. A story thats actually plausible based on history.

I swear coming to this board, just like at the old IMDB boards, brings a smile to my face. Some of us should be writing this show. In fact, why aren't people who are actually fans of the show writing the show?

Ok the way I look at it, so I don't get a headache lol, is while Justus is directly a Quartermaine via his granddad, the OTHER Wards are simply from Mary Mae's side of the family, and thus aren't Quartermaines. Its confusing cause Bradley and Justus kept their Ward name, but THEY are Quartermaines while Keesha and Idios and the rest are not.

I'd like to see Sonny just get randomly shot and killed by a gloved hand, then 3-4 people come to town after he is dead- toss in Jason, as well. The 4 can be random, but 1 is a white guy/Luke Spencer type- minus the rape, or a Cody Bell type, w some fire, and he is a kid that Auntie looked after when not looking after the Ashford boys. She did so as a favor to an old friend, and this white kid adores Auntie as his own. He was told Sonny tried to take TJ's kid, and this makes him #1 suspect, although only fans know. But he becomes pals w many PCers, and entwines in their tales. Maybe he boffs Molly or Willow, or both, and he befriends Lucas and saves him from some anti-gay thugs, and so on. Then we see him put on a pair of gloves one show and we think he is the one who shot Sonny, and maybe he has ties to Brennan, and so on, ans then it turns out he is NOT the killer tha audience thought- it's another newby we have no clues why shot Sonny, and then Curtis and this new guy are buddies fighting the baddies- 21st C Luke and Robert.

But make this character sort of meta, calling out other characters for their weakness or hypocrisy.
