It's just a split-cour, what Americans call a mid-season break. There's no "second season". They use continuous numbering too.

The Roberta's Trail OVA episodes are located in the specials because they were initially released differently: not on TV, but on DVDs. WOWOW and AT-X later aired them too.

Netflix (if it is not a series that released initially on Netflix), Wikipedia and IMDb aren't great sources for anime. You can just double-check things on there, but they shouldn't be used as your main source for editing..

I mean doesn't anime not really have the concept of seasons? it would be nice it the movie DB was better at handling the oddities with anime (continuous yet there are "seasons") - are there any plans too?

I've seen a shift in notation here. Hulu, IMDB, AniDB and some others have now moved to the 2 season notation or, in some cases, completely separate the second season under the title BLACK LAGOON: The Second Barrage. Should this page adopt this notation? Wikipedia and Amazon Video still use the single season notation. All of them seem to split Roberta's Blood Trail out to it's own title though, so that should probably be changed.

@Static_Rocket That's good to know, but the TMDb guidelines haven't changed.

Is there a more general place or forum where discussions on the TMBD anime guidelines can be discussed voted on or brought up? shutting down conversation with "Our guidelines have not changed" is not productive or helpful.

Per our rules, as long as the episodes have continuous numbering, they should be listed as one single season.

For example,(https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/36697-seitokai-yakuindomo/seasons)This one s0 belong s1,Why is in s1? and ova not counting in s0 s1 s2,(https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/61440-strike-the-blood/seasons) This one s5 is ova.

And this one (https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/1429). Each official episode has a serial number,in your rules,it belong to S1

Hello everyone, I am worried because the organization of Black Lagoon is a little bit illogical. There is three seasons for the anime and specials episodes (according to the official website of Black Lagoon [https://blacklagoon.jp/story.html][https://blacklagoon.jp/story2-13.html][https://blacklagoon.jp/story3-25.html]. but there is a problem. @superboy97 said to me that the 2 seasons (first and second barrage) have continuous episodes numbering, but the season 3 Roberta's blood Trail also has continuous episode numbering. Everything points to the contrary, if the episodes are continuous, then Roberta's Blood Trail should be added as they are rated episodes 25-29. People have been complaining about the same problem for almost 8 years now, and it still hasn't been solved because no one in the moderators of the discussioons want to understand that the guidelines indicate that the 2 seasons should at least be separated, especially when all the sites on the internet and the OFFICIAL ANIME SITE indicate 3 seasons.
