Discuss Supergirl

Mon-El lied to Kara, and she forgave him. Mon-El attacked her, and it didn't bother her. Mon-El's Momma tried to kill Kara, and she risked her life to save him. Kara spent this entire episode ensuring that Mon-El stayed on Earth. I don't see this relationship dissolving anytime soon. In addition, they kept referring to Mon-El as family.

Yep. If you don't ship Kara and Mon-El, which I don't, then it's going to be a little icky. Oh well.

I didn't ship them together; but at this point, I think they might be an item for awhile. After tonight's episode, I don't think they can break them apart easily because Mon-El gave up his home and lost his father over this. He doesn't know about his father yet, but still.

It's not like going back with his parents remotely seemed like an appealing option. He wasn't giving up anything.

The show is now nothing more than how Supergirl can embarrass herself running all over the place trying to secure some lamebrained high school romance.

She's totally acting like a desperate girl and nothing like a superhero at all..

So you mean Supergirl is acting like a...girl? grinning

Yes, which would be fine if she was playing an ordinary girl. Do you remotely feel like she's any kind of representation of strength, empowerment, yada yada? She seems like a loopy, lost weakling already..

The reason why Mon EL is good for Supergirl, is because, she has super strength. And imagine how awful it is to always have to be careful not to crush your BF.

Mon EL can take her strength.

But in the real world, if they were both humans. I'd have to say that Supergirl is more like "mothering" over him than being a girlfriend. And Mon EL is acting like a child to his mother that he adores.

Usually such dynamic don't end well.

I actually really like them together...please don't throw anything at me.

We're in the same boat. Glad I'm not the only one. The chemistry is off the charts and they're good together. Thank god we weren't force-fed the stuff with James anymore.

I think it's just about ruined an already bad show. It's all about the simple puppy dog love between them now.

Origins of Supergirl (her growing into her role), interactions with her sister, Catco, etc., have all taken a backseat to this relationship.

Which wouldn't be so bad except that the lead character is not doing anything that makes it a superhero anymore.

I couldn't disagree more

When it comes to Mon-El, the writers are dropping the ball once again. All of a sudden he's like a stay-at-home spouse, and not participating in the action. Mon-El has superpowers, but he's never participating in the action, and that sucks. Overall, I thought last week's episode was really good; however, I thought it was crazy to leave Mon-El out of the action.

Excellent point and something I hadn't considered (the bolded) but its true. Its ironic that they break up James and Kara and give James all the action scenes, but once Mon-El and Kara get together all of Mon-El's action scenes go poof. I wonder if the problem really is the show doesn't know how to write a couple that can both fight/have super powers?

I"m not sure they should be fighting side by side every time and sharing the superhero spotlight 50/50. I"m sure they have a role for him in mind and he'll be doing more on the show.
