...because they think we're rapists and murderers...

eye roll x 1,000,000,000,000

They simply won't give up on their tired bullshit. I wonder if the left is upset about the Clintons selling 20% of US uranium reserves to the Russians? Or is it ok to collude with the Russians as long as you're a Democrat? wink

That was a stupid line and I think most viewers--left and right--are intelligent enough to realize that. We all know that's NOT why supporters of the wall want it built. Although they are on Earth-38 and that could be the situation they're in--which would be the writer's defense if they were questioned about it--it's obvious why it was said. I'm sure the left-loving Benoist had no problem seeing that in the script. Why can't they just leave politics out of these shows? I watch them to escape from the real world, not to be reminded of how divided and screwed up our country is.

To be fair, I don't think Benoist is some big political activist. I think she's merely being put up to saying and doing some things as a way of placating her friends/colleagues.

She seems like a very live and let live person, which is a big reason why I like her. I agree with everything else you said though.

It was so weird. So apparently Alien President Lynda Carter and her spokesperson Cat agree with President Trump on the border! She's the President so she must be the one building the wall, right? They are so obsessed with getting in their political points that they don't even think about the world they have already established in the show.

You know, neither did I. So their President thinks Mexicans are murderers and rapists. I wonder how Lynda Crater thinks about that.

It's typical of the left now. They're all emotion and pretend outrage, no intelligence or common sense.

All they're after is total control and say over everything. They obviously don't give a shit about social issues and the common good. They all use it as an underhanded ploy to pretend as though they're automatically correct, and therefore everyone else must be wrong (and thus not allowed to have a say over anything).

Look at how they flipped out over this Paris accord. Yet even its supporters admit it won't even begin to address the problem...but it'd cost the US more than a TRILLION dollars! They endorse all sorts of illegal spying and felony crimes so long as they feel it's advancing their interests. They have no values whatsoever, and apparently no tolerance for anything.

They and their movement (leftism, socialism, marxism) is starting to destroy the entire world. Look at Europe now. It's bankrupt, falling off a cliff, and beginning to impose all sorts of anti-free speech laws designed to silence dissent and exert Nazi-like control over everything.

Good. Everything I'm reading is making me feel better about ditching this show.

I watched tonight's episode and there wasn't any mention of political stuff. So far so good. Hopefully the ratings dropoff is starting to make them change their tune.

Oh ok. I don't think they're gonna stop. They'll just wait a few more episodes and hit you twice as hard grinning

I suspect the same, but in light of most, if not all, of CW's shows taking a ratings hit, I think there may be some talking among the producers to tone down the nonsense, or at least change direction for a bit. I don't watch The Flash or Arrow, but apparently their ratings are down as well. My guess is they're trying to foist this political crap on those shows too, and it's starting to negatively reflect on viewership.

Nothing like kicking people's wallet in the dick to get them to abandon the issues they hold so dear but never do anything about in actuality. wink

I didn't realize they're all taking a ratings hit. My friend Taylorfirst can answer that better than I can about if the other shows are political, but I did read something about that Arrow show that they are going to hit the viewers pretty hard with that crap.

I think I read that all four shows have taken a dive, at least at the start of the season. I hope that reverses.

I think aside from the political crap, they're making a big mistake in making these shows too dramatic. I read that The Flash started to suck because they made it too depressingly dramatic, with a girlfriend of flash getting killed and him being miserable over it.

They're doing it with Supergirl too. Last night Alex was all distraught that Maggie doesn't want to have kids. I don't mind this issue, I just don't want this kind of drama on this show. I liked with the first season that it was so feel good campy that you could forget about drama and nonsense for an hour. I don't want to see constant crying and heartache on this show.

Can't it just be fluffy mindless fun?

The other CW DC shows are much less political than Supergirl. They have had moments where they push some political point but overall they don't come anywhere near the level that Supergirl has done. LOT pushed a lot of race baiting stuff in season 1 but have toned that down since. They are all pretty low rated but Supergirl has taken a bigger hit in the ratings than the others have.

How much of the ratings drop would you attribute to fans getting turned off by the political stuff? Or do you think the quality of the show has taken that big of a dip?

It's really hard to say. I think weak writing overall may have a lot to do with it. But the in your face, holier than thou, political stuff, I think is a contributing factor.
