Is this as bad as everyone says? In a word... Yes. It's dreadful. The relentless, twangy music that accompanies almost every frame of this daft detective yarn is almost as annoying as the profoundly mind-numbing dialogue - but the best bit has got to be the masterful plastic surgery carried out by world renowned "Dr. Gregor" (Herbert Rawlinson - who bears a passing resemblance to George Zucco) on the sofa of the guy's living room - without, it appears anaesthetic (for the patient, or ourselves).
